It explores how factors such as trust in institutions, economic hardship, and electoral credibility shape citizens’ willingness to participate in elections. The report also highlights a critical representation gap, while 85% of respondents support female candidates, women hold less than 5% of elected positions. As Nigeria approaches another electoral cycle, youth participation will depend largely on whether institutions can restore trust, safety, and confidence in the democratic process.
